Sarah Dawkins BSc (Hons), MSc, Accredited Master Coach

My name is Sarah Dawkins and I am from a small deprived, northern town in the UK, near Manchester.

My parents divorced when I was around 4 and myself, sister and father went to live with our aunt and uncle and their family; eight of us in a tiny, two up, two down, terraced house.

I had always loved caring for and helping people, my Mum was a Nurse and I wanted to be one too.

I had been at Grammar School after passing the eleven plus exam but when it was amalgamated with the High School I was not motivated to continue doing well.

I left school with virtually no qualifications.

Still, I hankered after becoming a Registered Nurse, so I went to college and studied biology, chemistry and physics at “A” level, well above the qualifications necessary to become a Nurse.

I felt the need to prove I could do well at something. I was then accepted to do my Nurse training and I qualified in 2001.

Although I loved my job in the NHS at that time, we wanted to see a bit of the world, so I did the American Nurse’s exam and passed it and we moved to America to live the American dream, forever.

That forever lasted 22 months!

Nursing in the USA was so very different to the UK. I no longer had the autonomy I had in the UK and struggled with the whole system, so we moved back to the UK and I went back into the NHS.

I don’t see this as a failure as we met some wonderful people and had some great experiences.

I remained a Registered Nurse for twenty years but after naturally healing myself of a multitude of health problems, I struggled with the medical model, so I trained as a coach in 2016, to help others on their own healing journey.

I finally left my role as a Nurse in 2021.

When I left nursing in a hospital and set up my first business, I wasn’t sure which way I would go, so had my fingers in many pies, doing lots of different roles, still working as a Nurse.

I was entered into a local competition by the University I attended and won a prize as an entrepreneur.

I went on to apply to a national competition for entrepreneurs and came second.

I was astounded that I had made such great progress, in such a short time. It is one of my many proud moments.

I’ve come to love the quote by Henry Ford

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t-you’re right.

Our beliefs are SO incredibly powerful. It all starts and ends with YOU!

I love my role now as a Holistic Health Coach and believe I have found my dharma. It took me a while to realise what my passion was, other than to help sick people on their journey to wellness.

I believed I would be a Nurse until I retired but as I understood how our body heals, I transitioned to coaching to help people to help themselves.

I truly feel this is a huge accomplishment in my life as I am living my true passion now. In my own healing journey, I started writing, partly to get everything out, partly to write a book to help others to understand how we can naturally support our body to heal.

Once I decided that it needed to only be about healing, I deleted much of it and started reaching out to other self-healers for their story.

I had seventy four people donate a chapter about what they healed and how they did it. Never in a million years did I think I would be a published author.

My book is now in four languages and helping people around the world.

My Mission Statement is…

To inspire others to achieve great things

I like to impact everyone I meet in a positive way and help them to believe in themselves.

As a child, I was told that I would be a nobody!!

I made the decision that I would be somebody and I became a multi-award winning entrepreneur, then I wrote my book and published it in many languages (more will be coming in the future).

If I can do it, so can you. No-one is going to do it for you but people can help you. Take that leap of faith and believe in yourself.

I painted the quote “Happiness is home-made” on the wall in front of my bed, so that I woke up to it every morning, to start my day on the right foot.

If I could give a message to my younger self it would be; let go of the need to please others and start believing in yourself, you are resourceful and capable.

I wished I knew that our bodies heal when we support them and that we don’t need to give the responsibility of healing to a doctor or hospital and take pills, believing they will heal us.

All the pills do is suppress the presenting symptoms.

My message to help you get through difficult times is, your beliefs impact your life more than you could ever imagine, never stop believing in miracles, they happen every day.

There is always some good in every day, even if you have to look harder for it some days.

You can change your life. You have to work out what you don’t want and discount it, to understand what you do want. Then hold that vision and the feelings of how it would feel if you had it now, in the present moment.

Never let go of that vision and keep working towards it. There will be challenges and difficult times but there will also be celebrations and new friends.

I love the quote by Henry Ford

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got

Henry Ford

This was the quote that helped me in my healing of depression with suicidal thoughts.

As we come to the end of Sarah Dawkins’ inspiring journey, I hope her story has touched your heart and left you with a sense of empowerment.

Sarah’s experiences remind us that no matter where we come from or what challenges we face, we have the power to transform our lives, follow our passions, and make a positive impact in the world.

So, remember, you too have the potential to achieve great things, to heal, and to inspire others.

The journey may not always be easy, but with belief in yourself, determination, and the right mindset, you can overcome obstacles and create a life filled with purpose and fulfillment.

Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey with Sarah Dawkins.
